Interior design is always evolving!
As we look ahead to 2025, so many exciting trends are emerging - with the promise to shape the way we design and decorate our homes. Here are some key interior design trends to watch:
1. Biophilic Design

What the heck is biophilic design, you ask? It is all about connecting with nature within design! Sure, it’s not a new trend, and you may already have a plant-filled home, but this year we’re looking at an even deeper integration. Think vertical plant walls or mycelium lighting. It’s giving growth.
2. Multifunctional Spaces:

With the continued blurring of work and home life, multifunctional spaces are becoming essential. But in 2025, the focus will be on personalization within these adaptable spaces. Look out for modular furniture, flexible layouts & hidden storage solutions. And a personal favorite of mine - zoning with color and texture within open-plan spaces.
3. Warm/Earthy Color Palettes:

Say goodbye to Millennial Gray and make way to warmer, more inviting tones. Expect to see earthy tones (deep browns, warm beiges, terracotta, and muted greens), and warm muted pastels (soft pinks, peaches, and lavenders with warm undertones).
4. Textured Surfaces:

Beyond color, texture will continue to play a crucial role in creating inviting and engaging spaces. For example, celebrating the natural beauty of materials like stone and wood, with visible imperfections. Or incorporating unique, handcrafted decorative elements.
5. Comfortable Spaces:

It’s all about creating a laid-back, sense of comfort this year! Such spaces feel like they truly nurture our well-being. From an abundance of pillows to soft lighting and comfortable seating - we can thoughtfully design a soothing and inviting atmosphere that serves as a personal retreat.
6. Expressive Decor:

Minimalism will still have its place in design, but we'll also see a fun resurgence of bolder patterns and expressive decor. This could be by updating classic geometric patterns with contemporary colors and scales, or mixing patterns to create an eclectic design.
7. Circular Design:

Sustainability will continue to be a driving force in Interior Design in 2025 (and beyond). We’ll see the use of upcycled furniture, sustainable materials, secondhand items and a focus on high-quality pieces that are built to last.
These 7 trends represent a shift towards more personalized, comfortable, and sustainable living spaces. By embracing these ideas, you can create a home that is not only stylish but also reflects your unique personality and values!
