A Jersey City Condo Gets a Colorful Mid-Century Makeover
Join me for a behind the scenes look into a KEEKS Interiors project! In this post we will dive into the design process of this colorful condo makeover in Jersey City, NJ - before/after photos included 😉!
The KEEKS Interiors Design Process
Step 1: Getting to know the client
I always begin projects by getting to know my clients. It’s the unique passions, needs and style of each client that inspires my designs! After a consultation with Margo, I learned her main goal was to fill her condo with color. She also shared a love of Mid Century design and preference for jewel tone colors. We were also able to include BIPOC brands and vintage items - which speak to Margo’s passions!
Step 2: The Moodboard
Margo purchased a KEEKS Full Design Service - which always includes a moodboard. Using Margo’s preferred design style and color palette as a starting point, I added inspiration images, colors and textures to her moodboard.
Step 3: The Design Board + Floorplan
Based on the moodboard, I sourced furniture, accessories and decor to create the colorful Mid-Century design Margo craved. Putting all of this together on the Design Board helped Margo visualize her space. It’s always helpful to see how everything will look together before committing to buying!

Step 4: The Shopping List
The final stage of a KEEKS Interiors design service is the Shopping List! I won’t overwhelm you with the details of every single item sourced for Margo’s project, but shop my favorite items from her design below!
We love a colorful transformation! One of my favorite things about Interior Design is bringing individual components together to create one harmonious space - and having fun while doing it 😉. Which room design is your favorite? Let me know in the comments and feel free to ask questions about this project!
