The design industry has a diversity problem.

Did you know: White/Caucasian individuals make up approximately 70% of the design industry, while around 11% of designers are Latinx/Hispanic, 10% Asian, 5% Bi-Racial/Multi-Racial, 3% Black/African American and less than 1% Native American.

As a Black female Interior Designer, I am not surprised by these numbers as I have experienced them firsthand. However, I sincerely believe that we have the power to make a change. So, what can you do?

Diversify your space.

The idea for this online pop-up shop began in 2020. Inspired by Black Lives Matter and other global movements, I started searching for home decor and furniture designed by BIPOC* brands. It was clear that BIPOC designers were not well-represented! Now, in 2024, I have put together a carefully curated collection to showcase the diverse creativity of the many BIPOC design brands out there (and this is just the tip of the iceberg)!

*BIPOC = Black, Indigenous, People of Color

BIPOC owned, designer curated.

Each product featured in this pop-up has been (virtually) curated by me & sourced from BIPOC-owned brands. I created product collections with items that have a similar pattern, style, shape or “vibe”. This virtual pop-up shop is a temporary shopping experience that you can explore from the comfort of home! New collections will be released regularly with limited stock per release, so check back often!
